This light and compact Sony DCR-SR68 (DCR-SR68E) camcorder features a built-in 80GB hard disk drive, you can capture and store up to 61 hours (LP mode) of video footage. It also delivers sharp, high-resolution images thanks to the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, while the 60X optical zoom lets you capture tight shots from a distance.

The DCR-SR68 features a professional-quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens designed specifically for compact camcorders. Precision ground optics help maintain the sharpness and contrast of larger lenses, and SteadyShot image stabilization helps reduce blur caused by camera shake. You can now capture the atmosphere and energy that reverberates around everyone in a sporting event. The high quality Carl Zeiss 60x optical zoom lens that allows you to get even closer to the action.

Hybrid recording technology delivers a new level of flexibility of capturing and transferring your video footage and digital photos from the camcorder to compatible viewing devices. Record to 80GB hard disk drive or choose instead to record to removable flash media (Memory Stick Duo / Memory Stick PRO Duo / Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo / SD/ SDHC). You can even select from various dubbing functions to easily copy video or still images from the HDD to the removable flash media -- without using a PC.

Ensuring clear, natural looking ‘people pictures’ can be tricky. Faces can look dark and underexposed in bright, backlit situations like a sun-drenched beach. And if you’re shooting indoors there’s a risk that your subject’s skin tone can look unnaturally colored. Face Detection automatically fine-tunes focus, exposure, color balance and skin tone for more natural looking faces. It works whether you’re shooting video or stills.
